Loft insulation
Mineral wool, fibreglass and SuperFOIL insulation installed or replaced, with old and contaminated material removed first where needed.

What this service covers
- 01
Loft insulation
Insulation laid between and across the joists to the agreed depth, with eaves ventilation and services kept clear.
- 02
Rockwool and mineral wool
Dense stone or glass mineral wool for thermal and sound performance, the usual choice for loft floors.
- 03
Fibreglass insulation
Cost-effective glass fibre rolls for loft floors where budget and coverage matter most.
- 04
SuperFOIL insulation
Multi-layer foil fixed between or under the rafters where the roof slope needs insulating, for example in a room-in-roof or a boarded loft.
- 05
Insulation removal
Old, damp, vermin-damaged or contaminated insulation bagged and removed before new material goes in.
What this service addresses
Old, thin or disturbed insulation lets heat out through the roof. Insulation that blocks ventilation, is damp or vermin-damaged, or is crushed under boards does not perform as it should.
It may be the right call if
- The loft has little or no insulation, or it has been moved around
- Insulation needs replacing after spray foam or old material has been removed
- You want the roof slopes insulated as well as the floor
- You want boarding and insulation planned together
How we assess it
We look at the existing depth and condition, the ventilation at the eaves, pipes and cables, and whether the loft is used for storage. From that we agree the material, the area and the approach.
What the job involves
- 01Remove any old, damp or contaminated material that has to go
- 02Lay mineral wool or fibreglass between and across the joists to the agreed depth
- 03Fit SuperFOIL to the rafters where the slopes are being insulated
- 04Keep eaves ventilation and services clear, and fit raised boarding where storage is needed
What you receive
A loft insulated to the agreed depth and material, ventilation preserved, and photographs of the finished area for your records.
What we cannot guarantee
We cannot guarantee a specific saving on energy bills or a specific EPC rating. Both depend on the whole property, not just the loft.

Common questions
Which insulation is right for my loft?
For a loft floor, mineral wool or fibreglass is usually the practical choice. For roof slopes, a multi-foil such as SuperFOIL fits between the rafters. We recommend after seeing the loft, not before.
How much insulation should a loft have?
Depth depends on the material and the existing build-up. We measure what is there and confirm the target in the scope rather than quoting a single number for every house.
Can I still store things in the loft?
Yes. Raised boarding lets you keep the full insulation depth underneath and still use the space.
Will you deal with the old insulation?
If it has to come out we bag and remove it. If it is sound we can top it up rather than replace it.
Does insulation cause condensation?
It can if ventilation is blocked. We keep the eaves clear and check airflow as part of the work.
